Two gold awards for The Little Red Box of Cheese!
We worked closely with ULN’s New Product Development Manager on the branding and design for The Little Red Box of Cheese, which recently won the 2011 Nantwich International Cheese Award’s Trophy for Best New Retail Innovation and Gold Award for Best Cheese Snack at the Frome Global Cheese Awards.
The Little Red Box of Cheese from the Westbury Cheese Company, ULN (UK) Limited is a true innovation in terms of format and design aimed at adult snacking.
The Little Red Box of Cheese is an adult real cheese snacking solution with everything you need for the perfect ‘on the go lunch’. Included are three portions of different cheeses, eight oatcakes, caramelised onion chutney, a knife, an antibacterial wipe and a fold-out plate.
“Research showed that the packaging was a big draw for consumers, offering good stand-out on shelf and giving first impressions of a new, stylish, and exciting product.”

In product trials, 90% said that The Little Red Box of Cheese “is a great idea for lunch” and 92% said it “makes a nice change from sandwiches”. A whopping eight out of 10 said they “would be happy to have this for lunch every few weeks” and rated it “excellent” or “very good”. Comments from shoppers included “it’s a lunchtime meal – you’ve got all the bits!”.
